Description

Panel Topics & Descriptions

LEADERSHIP IN HEALTH CARE
As Virginia, the United States, and the world continue to manage the impacts of COVID-19, strong leadership in health care is more important than ever. This panel will feature leaders from Virginia’s health systems and will focus on how they are managing their systems through the current crisis and beyond.

GREATER EQUITY IN OPPORTUNITY FOR HEALTH CARE
Along with the global COVID-19 pandemic, the United States and Virginia have been grappling with the realization that there is a need for greater equity in opportunity. One component of this broader challenge is the need for greater equity in opportunity for health care. This panel will focus on these challenges and bring more attention to the topics of mental health, accessibility, quality, total cost of care and more.

THE FUTURE OF HEALTH CARE
Although the COVID-19 pandemic has presented the health care industry and society with many challenges, it also given us a glimpse of what might be possible in the future. It has allowed for a more rapid deployment of existing telemedicine technologies to make distance health care increasingly more plausible. It has laid-bare areas for increased resiliency. This panel will discuss what the future of health care in Virginia and the United States might look like, given the lessons we’ve learned from the current pandemic.
