Siddharth Ashvin Shah, MD, MPH, was born and raised in Texas, where he attended a magnet high school for the health professions and later Rice University. He spent a gap year before medical school living and traveling extensively in India, including time with people deeply engaged in social movements and social change. He also lived in Kansas for a year and spent five years in New York City, including during the September 11 attacks—an experience that helped shape his later work in public health, trauma, and wellbeing. Today he is a physician, public-health scientist, and founder of Greenleaf Integrative. He lives in Falls Church with his wife and two daughters, enjoys the outdoors, and has coached youth basketball, field hockey, and other sports.
